60th Cannes Film Festival Opening Day!

The term pop star turned actor has become almost a cliché in modern parlance but rarely does success in music translate to success on the screen. Just ask Madonna.

This year Cannes Film Festival kicked off with the screening of "My Blueberry Nights" by Chinese director Wong Kar Wai with Norah Jones as the central character alongside Jude Law and Rachel Weisz.

Jones plays a recently heartbroken young woman who meets and befriends English café owner Jeremy (played by Jude Law) in New York.

She then embarks on a road journey across the US from east to west, healing her heart along the way.

While her performance was described as a success not everyone was convinced by the film as a whole.

Many critics said its "slow atmospheric" pacing was reminiscent of his other films as was the "beautiful" cinematography. Others, however, described it as "boring".

But hey, doesn't she look gorgeous???
